Johannes Brahms’s Vocal Quartets

Chamber Music Hall of the Sibelius-Academy in 10th of May, 2007

A lecture concert in the Chamber Music Hall of the Sibelius-Academy in 10th of May, 2007. Concert was part of the lecture concert series “Esittäjän kuulokulmasta”, organized by Docmus department and Sibelius-Academy Open University.

This lecture concert will be about the vocal ensemble repertoire of the German romantic composer Johannes Brahms. During the concert you will hear altogether 12 vocal quartets by Johannes Brahms, performed by the singers Steinunn Skjenstad, Melis Jaatinen, Charles Barbier and Jussi Ziegler.

The vocal quartets will be introduced by the Brahms scholar Terhi Jääskeläinen, who also plays piano in the performance. The lecture will be held in English.
