ARRIVING HELSINKI BY PLANE

Helsinki-Vantaa airport is situated 20 km north of Helsinki (www.helsinki-vantaa.fi).

Downtown transfers:

1) Finnair airport bus from airport to Elielinaukio (Finnair City Terminal) next to the railway station, boarding also on Töölönkatu (Töölö street) behind Scandic Hotel Continental and in front of Sibelius Academy (T-building). Driving time 30 minutes. (4.90 euros)

2) Local buses:
Bus no 615, terminus at the Railway Square, platform no 10. Driving time 35 minutes. (3 euros)

3) Yellow airport taxi:
You will get this yellow taxi at the airport without a reservation beforehand. Departure from the airport most of the time in 10 minutes. Driving time 35-45 minutes, depending where you are going. (18 euros)

4) Helsinki taxis:
From the airport to Helsinki, approximately 30 euros per taxi. Driving time about 20 minutes.

The monetary unit in Finland is the Euro (EUR). There are 100 cents to one euro. Traveller's checks are widely accepted in Finland and most hotels, restaurants and shops accept major credit cards.

Banks in Finland are open Monday to Friday 9:15 am to 4:15 pm. Outside regular banking hours, foreign currency may usually be exchanged at the airport and Helsinki railway station.
